About Me
My name is Sreeyan Nampally
I am a high school student at Thomas S. Wootton High School with a strong interest in medicine, cancer research, technology, and community service.
My experience volunteering at Shady Grove Hospital showed me that patients need both medical treatment and emotional support. I have also studied proton therapy, explored the use of natural foods in medicine, and developed a pneumonia detection model using Python.
As a trained Carnatic and a cappella singer, I want to use music to create moments of comfort for children facing cancer and other serious illnesses.
I have completed more than 500 hours of community service and continue to lead projects in healthcare, student government, fundraising, and youth advocacy.

My Research
Proton Therapy Research
I am working with a medical mentor, Dr. Aditya Halthore to study short-term mortality following proton therapy.
My work includes:
Reviewing medical research through PubMed, analyzing patient mortality data, identifying duplicate and repeated records
Proton therapy is a growing area of cancer treatment, but more research is still needed. This project may help build a stronger foundation for future studies.
Natural Foods as Medicine
During my internship with Tenacity Healthcare Solutions, I researched how natural foods may support health and wellness. I also created a presentation about the future of healthcare and technology.
